Lord Cheyanne, is a monstrous creature who rules the Northern Lands, and she is feared by all who cross her path. She is cold hearted, manipulative, and full of bitter anger. Cheyanne is very territorial, and rarely leaves the Northern Lands, preferring to sulk in the barren wastelands and rocky terrain. When rumors circulate that she has left her territory, fear races through the hearts of every creature. Legend says that Cheyanne is responsible for the murder of the ancient Demigods, the benevolent creators.

Mary Mouse is a small grey field mouse with sharp fangs in her mouth and a daisy behind her ear. Her bright blue eyes watch the world around her with undying curiosity. Mary was found by the Rook in the vast Northern Wilderness and saved from the claws of Lord Cheyanne by the old mouse, Nino. She does not know where her home is.

Stephen J. Mouse was once the best friend of Mary, but has since lost her in the wilderness. He seems to be very worried about getting in trouble over Mary's disappearance, and begins his search for her in the Snowy lands of the East. He has the tendency to overreact to everything.

A chain - smoking hermit, Nino is cynical and greying. He reluctantly rescued Mary from Cheyanne, and regrets doing so. The cigarette in his mouth is made from a herb called noatano, which is translated to "eyes of Tano". Mary made the mistake of eating a large handful of the plant and after experiencing the consequences, decided not to go near the stuff ever again. Nino can often be found playing a mandolin. He makes his home in the West.

The Rook found Mary Mouse alone and sleeping in the wilderness. He seems to know who she is, and delights in disappearing every time Mary tries asking too many questions. He is always keeping watch over his surroundings, and loves to use his dark black feathers to help him fade into the shadows.

Miguel is a large hooded tiger who lives deep in the tropical Southern Lands. He keeps himself hidden and lives a lonely life.
